Fifth Dog Race and Walk
Get your little paws ready to cross the finish line: UNAM is organizing the Fifth Dog Race and Walk 2023
It’s time to leave the races for us and make room for the darlings of our homes, our beloved dogs. For the fifth time, a special race and walk for them is being organized at CU.
The event has two categories. The first is a 3-kilometer walk because, like humans, not all dogs are fitness enthusiasts or, in some cases, they are older and cannot run. Now, for those dogs with extra energy to spare, the second category is a 5-kilometer race.
Registration for the Dog Walk at CU
The event takes place on Sunday, August 13, a family day outdoors with our furry friends. To participate, along with your dog, you must be present at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FMVyZ) at Ciudad Universitaria before 8 am. The race starts at 8:30 am, and the walk at 8:45 am.
Attention! Registrations end on June 30 or earlier if the allowed capacity is reached. You have to fill out a registration and liability form with your and your pet’s general information. You can find it on the official website of the FMVyZ. Please note that the process can be done in person or online, and you need to have your dog’s vaccination record at hand.
Once registered, you must collect a kit from August 7 to 11, which includes the participant number with a chip, a t-shirt, the program, and accessories for your pet. The collection hours are from 9:30 am to 2 pm and from 3 pm to 6 pm at the Secretariat for Community Affairs.
Cost and Prizes for the Dog Race and Walk 2023
The general fee is $500 per pair (dog and human), while an additional dog is charged $150 (for the walk only). Payment is made at the FMVyZ from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 7 pm, and subsequently, the documents and receipt are delivered to the Secretariat for Community Affairs. You can request the bank reference by email at corre170vet@gmail.com.
Upon completion, you will receive a certificate of participation and a medal as part of your event registration. Additionally, the first three places in each category will receive gifts from sponsors… bone-shaped cookies or toys, perhaps?
