CDMX: one of the friendliest cities in the world

CDMX has earned a spot on the Readers’ Choice Awards 2023 list as one of the friendliest cities in the world.
When it comes to traveling, any destination is great. Many people start traveling because a city is part of their dream, because they want to experience the culture, architecture, or because it’s a must-visit destination. But often, traveling is influenced by various economic, distance, or time-related factors that determine our choices when visiting strategic locations.
That’s why Conde Nast Traveller magazine has taken the time to provide us with a series of recommendations for trip planning, indulging in crazy getaways, or simply suggesting the best cities to visit. This time, they’ve compiled a list of the top 10 friendliest cities to visit, and CDMX holds a position on that list.
The magazine asked its readers to rank the friendliest cities in the world as part of the Readers’ Choice Awards 2023.
Mexico City, Mexico. Score: 92.97
CDMX ranks at number 10 on the list. It is described as “one of the world’s largest and liveliest capitals, with a vibrant artistic and cultural scene, a cheerful spirit, and a hub of historical stories and historical influences.
There are no fewer than three UNESCO World Heritage Sites scattered throughout the ancient Aztec capital, where visitors can journey back in time amidst the ruins of five Aztec temples and visit the Palacio de Bellas Artes (known as the Cathedral of Art), which hosts a continually thrilling array of notable events in music, dance, theater, opera, and literature.
The other cities mentioned include Cartagena, Colombia, with a score of 93.02, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with a score of 93.13, and Izmir, Turkey, with a score of 93.85. Malaga, Spain, ranks at number 6 with a score of 94.19.
Canada stands out by occupying virtually all of the top 5 positions on the list. Quebec City (score: 94.92) is described as “a European city with the kindness of a Canadian,” and Dublin, Ireland, is also among the friendliest cities in the world.
Finally, Victoria, Edmonton, and Calgary, Canada, take the top 3 spots. Calgary is described as a “paradise for adventurers,” but above all, as a “discreet city with excellent steak restaurants, independent boutiques, and a welcoming multicultural community.”
So, if you want to experience a country that has it all, Canada has become one of the most impressive, friendly, and comprehensive destinations. Perhaps it wasn’t on your travel list, but it’s always a good idea to add countries to have new experiences, and Canada sounds appealing. Of course, CDMX is always a welcome choice.
