Cineteca opens soon

The new and long awaited Chapultepec National Cineteca, which now includes a video library, restaurant, and gallery, opens soon.
The Chapultepec National Cineteca is one of the most anticipated venues for cinema lovers. This new space features eight theaters, an open-air forum, Arts and Crafts Workshops, Audiovisual Workshops, a video library, and a covered forum.
On Tuesday, September 24, the Chapultepec National Cineteca was inaugurated, and we were amazed by the attractions it offers. It is located in the Fourth Section of Chapultepec Forest.
If you love cinema, you’ll be happy to know it has eight screening rooms with a total capacity of 1,800 people. Watching films of various genres is reason enough to visit, but in addition to the theaters, there are many other facilities.
Some media outlets were able to tour the fourth section of Chapultepec Forest and hear from the Director of the National Cineteca, Alejandro Pelayo, about the advantages and needs of this new facility, which serves as a cultural and cinematic alternative to conventional movie theaters.
It was also mentioned during the inauguration that the theaters, access points, and the Cablebús station are less than 100 meters from Chapultepec Cineteca.
Starting with its open-air forum, which can accommodate 280 people, where movies, documentaries, and short films will be screened. There will also be a covered forum for screenings and other activities. Additionally, it will feature a video library and a space dedicated to audiovisual workshops.
Each screening room at Chapultepec Cineteca will have 200 seats, with two more rooms seating 150 and two with 100 seats. The aim is to replicate the focus of the National Cineteca and the Arts Cineteca by screening high-quality artistic films, making this new venue the third-largest cinema complex in the country, while also offering workshops on film-related crafts.
This new Cineteca will have multiple access points, with the main one on Vasco de Quiroga Street. A new entrance is also being built on Constituyentes Avenue and Paseo de la Reforma.
Of course, watching movies is better with delicious food, so there will be a restaurant and café available.
Like other Cinetecas in Mexico City, the Chapultepec Cineteca will be a space dedicated to cultural and artistic expression, so there will also be an art gallery and a bookstore.
Worried about parking? The Chapultepec National Cineteca will have 233 parking spots. If you prefer public transportation, you can take the new Line 3 of the Cablebús, which will have a station providing easy access.
