National Simulation

The National Simulation will take place on September 19th and commemorates the strong earthquakes that occurred on that date in the years 1985 and 2017. It will have 4 hypotheses.
According to authorities from the National Civil Protection Coordination (CNPC), the simulation will take place at 11:00 AM, Central Mexico time.
The four scenarios that this exercise will contemplate are:
An earthquake with a magnitude of 8.0 with its epicenter in Acapulco, Guerrero
A second earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 with its epicenter in Bavispe, Sonora
A Category 3 hurricane in the Caribbean Sea of the Gulf, above Othón P. Blanco, Quintana Roo
A Category 4 hurricane in the Pacific Ocean with an impact on Los Cabos, Baja California Sur
It is important to prepare for the simulation, as the main objective is to promote a culture of prevention in the face of the risk of an earthquake or hurricane. This exercise will help people know how to act in case of such an emergency.
According to authorities, the simulation strengthens the prevention, preparedness, and response capabilities of the National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc).
Furthermore, it serves to identify any failures and review the vulnerable conditions that each municipality may have.
